Nelson Calls "Town Hall" Campaign Event to Debunk Allegations and Allegedly Violates State Law Using City Staff and Official Facebook Page

John Nelson, the current Mayor of Franklin, in an attempt to get in front of the storm, amid many allegations against him, announced a town hall meeting via his City of Franklin FaceBook page.

You are invited to join me at a
TOWN HALL MEETING
Wednesday, April 30
6-8 p.m.
Franklin Public Library
9151 W. Loomis Road
Franklin, WI 53132

I invite you to join me at the town hall meeting where I will not only address the recent Town of Waterford allegations that have been brought to light but will also answer your questions. What I plan to address is:

• The timing of the allegations that I, along with other Town of Waterford police officers, have been battling this situation.

• How none of the officers, including myself, were told why we were being put on paid leave, and explain what the normal protocol is.

• Within my nine years with the Town of Waterford Police Department, I never had any complaint, grievance or discussion of misconduct.

• I will explain the conflicts of interest with the third-party investigative firm that was brought in to meet with the Waterford officers, and how those conflicts worked in favor of the former Town Chairwoman

• How the Waterford officers were threatened with being put on the Brady list without any proof of wrongdoing.

• Why I have filed a lawsuit against the former Town Chairwoman and the Town of Waterford.
Anyone interested in asking a question will be provided an index card where they will be asked to write the question, their name and where they are from.
I have been battling this situation, which has included attacks on my commitment to law enforcement and the people of Franklin, my integrity and professionalism, for almost a year. Some of the accusations have been mortifying and could not be further from the truth. You, the people of Franklin, are my priority, which is why I want to be an open book with you at the Town Hall and answer any questions or misunderstandings you may have heard.

Thank you,
Your Mayor,
John R. Nelson

LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD - for the GREATER GOOD of Franklin

Many residents have contacted FCN and indicated they are apprehensive to attend the "Town Hall" on Wednesday.  In order to "speak" and be "heard" you need to fill out a card that will be provided to Nelson.  Residents are concerned that by providing to much information on the card they will be retaliated against.  We encourage John to open the microphone, take it like a man if you have nothing to hide, and let the residents voices be heard!

All Concerned Franklin Residents are Encouraged to attend and let your voices be heard. Franklin will not stand for a dirty, corrupt mayor who is unfit for the job and has had multiple sexual harassment complaints filed against him not just in Waterford but in his former employment as a Deputy Milwaukee County Sheriff.  Johns message on Wednesday, I did nothing wrong, it’s everybody else they are all lying, not me.  Use your own individual judgement.

ITS UNETHICAL AND POTENTIALLY ILLEGAL TO USE CITY RESOURCES for YOUR TOWN HALL, JOHN

John, we know you have been schooled on open records and open meetings laws.  You admitted to such in the Waterford transcripts.  Let me provide a little advice to you based on the Wisconsin open records statue  §19.31 - 19.39 law as well as the Use of Public Position Wisconsin Statute §19.45(2).

It is against the state statues to use your "Official Mayoral Facebook Page" for
non-official City of Franklin business.  Your "Town Hall" has nothing to do City of Franklin Business.  It has everything to do with the John Nelson for Mayor Campaign, paid for by friends of John Nelson.  Remember, the campaign team two years ago led by County Supervisor Taylor/ROC Foundation Executive Director, Mike Zimmerman, ROC CEO, Kelly Hersh, now City of Franklin Director of Administration (former lead in law suit against Franklin for Strauss which was heard by Judge Hannah Dugan), and former Franklin Alderperson Kristen Wilhelm.  Anything on Nelson's "Official Mayor Facebook Page" is public records for official public use and Nelson has potentially misused his public position and the resources of the citizens of Franklin.

It is against state statues for an Alderperson to use their "Official City of Franklin Alderperson Page" for non-official City of Franklin business.  Like Alderwoman Michelle Eichmann publicizing a non-Franklin government sponsored activity like Nelson’s campaign committee "Town Hall".  Was Alderperson Eichmann on the Nelson campaign election committee as well?  Anything on Eichmanns "Official Alderperson Page" is public records for official public use and Eichmann has potentially misused her public position and the resources of the citizens of Franklin.

It is also unethical and illegal to use City of Franklin Staff or resources to work on a campaign activity.  The "John Nelson Town Hall" is a Nelson for Mayor Campaign Event and has nothing to do with the City of Franklin, which is why it is being held at the Franklin Public Library and not the Franklin City Hall.

The City of Franklin has contracted with a "PR" person, who is not "officially on the payroll" but is contracted to help with "City Communications".  The person was confirmed by multiple individuals and has a FaceBook account with the name of Mary Christine .  Mary Christine has been out on multiple FaceBook pages defending Nelson.  You can see how ethically this does not look good.  Is Mary Christine being paid working on behalf of the City of Franklin for the tax payers or is she making all of these posts as a resident of Franklin?  Mary Christine a resident of Franklin.  This not only appears to be an ethical violation but also possibly a violation of misuse of a public position and tax payer funded services to support the John Nelson for Mayor Campaign.

Citizens and residents of Franklin will be watching this Town Hall event.  As this "Town Hall" event is not a City of Franklin event or a publicly posted meeting by the City of Franklin. All staff, resources, and services should not be provided by or paid for by the City of Franklin.  This is a Nelson for Mayor Campaign Event and as such should be paid for by Friends of John Nelson.
